Our first app was the ConveyThis Mobile Translator for Google Android-powered smartphones. The ConveyThis Mobile Translator took all the power of the main ConveyThis website translation widget, and condensed it into an app that could not only translate text between approximately 50 languages while on the go, but pronounce the translations aloud, too!

The ConveyThis Mobile Translator App has been downloaded nearly 50,000 times to date, and currently holds a 4.0 out of 5 user rating on the Android Market, from where it can still be downloaded (latest version 1.2).

The success of the ConveyThis App quickly lead us to create a Voolkan Job Search app for Android smart phones. The Job Search USA by Voolkan crawls job websites and returns potentially thousands of nation-wide listings, which can then be viewed in full.

The strength of Voolkan's Job Search USA app over other job search apps in the Android Market, however, is its ability to let users not only view listings, but apply to them as well. Functionality was extended even further for users who registered on the Voolkan website, as they could then upload a resume to attach with their job inquiries. Even a cover letter template could be written up to send along. It was a powerful application, and earned high rankings and tens of thousands of downloads, as well as thousands of job applications sent to date.

After successfully entering the Android market, Voolkan began porting its apps to other platforms as well, and the ConveyThis application is now available for BlackBerry users from the BlackBerry App World Store.

A BlackBerry port of the Voolkan Job Search USA app is in the works as well, and its iPhone counterpart is currently awaiting review from Apple for iPhone users.
