Announcing the Job Search USA App for Mobile and Handheld Devices

We here in the Voolkan team are proud to announce the release of Job Search USA by Voolkan, the most dynamic way to find and apply to local jobs from anywhere!

Voolkan's Job Search USA is an app for Android phones, such as the T-Mobile G1, which allows you to not only find, but apply to thousands of local jobs listings directly from your mobile device! Job Search USA crawls both Craigslist and the Voolkan job databases and finds exactly what you're looking for, and lets you search, browse, and apply to any job listing on either site. Write a short message, insert a template cover letter, even attach a resume and apply entirely from your phone!

How does it work?

The Job Search USA app is very simple and straightforward to use:

  1. First, start the app by selecting the icon from the menu:
  2. When the app pops up, go to the Search tab and simply enter your state, region, and field and job keywords if you prefer, then click "search."
  3. The app will then crawl through both Voolkan and Craigslist job indexes and find the relevant results to your search. After a moment, the Browse tab will automatically open, with all the jobs we found!
  4. Scroll through the listings and double click (tap twice) the title of any job that interests you.
  5. To apply, click the Apply button and fill out the form. Enter a short message, insert your email template, or attach a resume (if you're a registered Voolkan user!) and click "Apply" to send your job application!

How do I install it?

Access the Android Market on your handheld device. Locate the Job Search USA program in the listings (it's free and listed under the Productivity category), then follow the standard app installation procedure. (Check your device's manual or on-screen instructions for more detailed information).
